Unicycle Loves You met in Chicago, IL and have been performing live together since November 2006. Avid home recording artist, Jim Carroll hooked up with well-versed rock guitarist, Jon Pollock, and pop bassist Nicole Vitale in the summer of 2006. They began collaborating on rough indie pop demos before adding the smooth keyboard stylings of Adam Labrada and drummer, J.T. Baker, to the roster.

After Generating some decent internet buzz amongst various Chicago blogs, Unicycle Loves You soon gained the attention of D.I.Y. label, Highwheel Records, in the spring of 2007. Having signed with Highwheel, they entered Chicago's Engine Studios with producer and Red Red Meat veteran, Brian Deck, known for his work with Iron & Wine, and Modest Mouse among others.
